So grateful to have this fabulous village store and cafe on our doorstep. The café is fantastic and well patronised, and the shop offers take out coffee and sandwiches for cyclists who pass through regularly.
The shop itself seems to be open at all hours, as well stopped with local produce and home baked treats as well as lots of essentials. The staff are always friendly and polite and can’t do enough to help. We have our weekly copy of the Yorkshire post put by, ready to collect each Saturday. Fantastic!We stopped off here yesterday while we were out on our bikes and the steak pie we bought was absolutely gorgeous packed full with tender steak. Great store with a wealth of home made products and a cafe too. Thankyou and will call again next time we are passing
Fab little village store! We were working nearby and this shop was the perfect place to pick up a tasty lunch. I particularly enjoyed the sausage, Wensleydale and red onion chutney panini and their vanilla slices!

Wonderful stop when cycling in the Howardian Hills. Friendly staff, great coffee, and a fantastic range of cakes and savouries. Just what you need.
Regular stop off if cycling through. Had bacon sandwiches previously but had the bacon, brie and cranberry panini this time. Lovely. Grand cup of tea too.
Lovely staff with some amazing cakes and pastries. Coffee needs to be a bit stronger.
Had the best rocky road of my life here the other day, we also bought some meatballs to cook later which were absolutely delicious.

Called in today, I had ploughmans lunch-good value & tasty. My other half had Toastie which she enjoyed. Bought a 'fat rascal' type cake to take away, very tasty & moist. All in All a lovely place with lovely staff.

A well stocked village store with takeaway sandwiches, pizza, bread, groceries etc. The tea room is attached to the shop with a few tables but with more tables outside. A selection of breakfasts (served til 11.30), soup, sandwiches and massive portions of cake. Afternoon tea can be served for £9.50. As this establishment is small you can reserve a table as it does get very busy, particularly at weekends. Nice clean toilets as well. The pricing is not cheap but when you get the food it's definitely worth it. A pure gem!!I’ve just had 2x cheese and tomato paninis for the 2nd time in 4 weeks. Absolutely 100% delicious. I’d say best toasties in England for sure. Well done. The shop has so many cool things too.
A very wide range of goods and an extremely impressive deli section. Just had to have the 'breakfast sausage roll' and the 'Wensleydale + Chutney Scotch Egg'. Both were amazing, huge, decently priced and just what I needed on my long walk of the Ebor Way. Could have spent a fortune in here due to the amount of tempting goods they offer.
Great local village store with a nice selection of groceries. The tea room serves some great sandwiches and the homemade sausage rolls are delicious. The store is very neat and has nice outside seating.
Stopped here yesterday for lunch, during a walk. Friendly staff, great bowl of homemade soup with chunk of bread. Cakes looked wonderful. Thoroughly recommended.
For the area the price is very reasonable, and you get big portions. 👍 Lovely quality and the coffee was brewed not from powder, very happy 😁 definitely recommend

101How much is afternoon tea please April 2022
The tea room was shut when we went, but we were able to get take away from the shop at the front and sit on the picnic tables out front. Probably worth ringing ahead so you're not caught out like we were.
